Cegeka has acquired the Mechelen e-business integrator company, DigiPoint. Cegeka has strengthened the group’s internet department with this full takeover. DigiPoint specialises in the development of web applications, intranets and corporate websites. The company achieves an annual turnover of 5 million euro and employs 56 members of staff.

Cegeka already has an extensive team of web developers. “Our new subsidiary company DigiPoint complements our existing web services well. We are broadening our knowledge of Microsoft .NET and Microsoft SharePoint and our clients can now rely on usability experts for an improved user experience of web applications and websites,” explains CEO André Knaepen.

Infrastructure, data centre and secondment services to Cegeka
As well as web development, DigiPoint also provides data centre, infrastructure and advisory services to clients. Cegeka will become responsible for this service provision in the future. “It goes without saying that we will accommodate our web hosting services in the Cegeka data centres. Internet communication is often an integral part of our clients’ core activities. The economy of scale that Cegeka offers us is important for the availability and continuity of these websites,” explains Peter Ryckaert, CEO of DigiPoint and also chairman of FeWeb, the Belgian Federation of Web Companies. “As part of the Cegeka Group we will be able to take on more and larger projects, and continue to help clients more quickly.”

DigiPoint has already completed projects for companies such as Bandag (Bridgestone), General Motors, D’Ieteren Lease, Fluxys, Leonidas, PSA HNN, the Red Cross and Vlan.be, amongst others.
