Cegeka takes a new step in its governance process and reinforces its executive board and management team

The extraordinary general assembly of the NV Cegeka has reinforced its executive board by the appointment of Jef Roos and Robert Ceuppens as independent members of the board and of
Stijn Bijnens, representative of the NV LRM and Sonja Nouwen, representative of Ansa NV, as board members.



Those appointments fit in with a corporate governance process by which the basis of the expertise in the board is broadened, in order to support the company’s further growth and development.
The vision and expertise of the new directors will make a crucial contribution to Cegeka’s successful expansion as market leader in the Belgian IT scenery.

CEO André Knaepen can rely on a highly competent management team for Cegeka’s operational management. At the beginning of this year, the management was strengthened by the appointment of Patrick Hendrickx.
Patrick Hendrickx spent most of his career with Telindus where he held office for
16 years in several management functions. Patrick has acquired a large experience in the government, health care and industrial sectors.

Professor Jef Roos holds a Ph. D. degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the
Colorado School of Mines in the U.S. From 1969 till 1994 he was fulltime professor in the K.U Leuven and during the same period, he also held the chair of the Flemish Science Policy Council
(de Vlaamse Raad voor Wetenschapsbeleid - VRWB) and of the Flemish Institute for Technological Research (de Vlaamse Instelling voor Technologisch Onderzoek - VITO).
Subsequently, he acted as an extraordinary guest professor and was on the board of steel companies (ALZ, Sidmar, Arbed, and later on in the Arcelor merger Group) and of the Tractebel group.
He was chairman of the VEV (Vlaams Economisch Verbond– Flemish Economical Association) from
2000 till 2003. He presides the executive board of the K.U.Leuven since 2004 and is member of the board of SDWORX, Telenet and LRM.

Robert Ceuppens graduated as a Licentiate in Commerce and Financial Sciences at the St. Aloysius
High School in Brussels. He started his career at the Kredietbank-Almanij Group.
His activities for the Concentra Group started in 1992 and today, Robert Ceuppens is delegate member of the board and member of the management committee. In addition, he holds a seat on the board of
i-City vzw and is member of the executive committee of Voka Limburg.

Stijn Bijnens is a civil engineer in Computer Sciences and was researcher at the K.U.Leuven
and the Trinity College in Dublin. He is member of the board of Porthus nv. 
Stijn Bijnens was delegate member of the board of Ubizen since he co-founded the company in 1995. Trends Magazine proclaimed him Manager of the Year 1999. He became general manager of the LRM
in October 2007.
